how do you know when it's time to give up?
and other questions for The Creative Independent πππ
Hello hello,
For years, Iβve been reading the interviews at The Creative Independent. Theyβre such a gorgeous compendium of artists talking about their work and lives. Today I got to have my own conversation with them run.
I was interviewed by the wonderful Celeste Scott; it was a real pleasure, and big thanks to Brandon Stosuy for having me.
Some of the thoughtful questions Celeste asked me:
Do you think the process of spending so much time with a story that ultimately didnβt really work, aided you in getting to the story that did work?
Since leaving New York and going to this space thatβs so drastically different from being in Brooklyn, have you noticed any differences or shifts in your creative process?
How do you know when an idea is worth fighting for and when itβs time to give up?
Who are the writers, artists, organizers, culture workers, inspiring you these days?
If you liked the interview, feel free to share it. Aside from various discursive qs about art/activism/living, I share a bunch of recs for art, music, and (some) objects. Have a sweet and good weekend.
xx
